NEOMED Zoom Account Lifecycle

Overview

NEOMED Zoom accounts are available for current NEOMED faculty, staff, and students. This article covers the lifecycle of your account from activation to your departure from the university. 

How do I activate my account? 

Employees and students can log in at NEOMED Zoom to activate their account.  Once logged in, you will need to verify your NEOMED email address and then you can get started using Zoom.. 

IMPORTANT! NEOMED Zoom accounts that have not been logged into for 365 days will be deleted. If your account has been deleted due to infrequent use, you can create a new account by logging in again at NEOMED Zoom and verifying your NEOMED email address.

What can I use my NEOMED Zoom account for? 

NEOMED Zoom can be used for administrative or academic tasks, as well as personal connections. You are expected to comply with the NEOMED’s Acceptable Use of Computing Resources policy. If you need a Zoom account for activities that fall outside the Acceptable Use policy, create one using an account that is not managed by NEOMED. 

What happens when I leave NEOMED? 

Students 

• Graduating students will have access for 30 days after the student is marked "Graduated" in Banner.  This may occur immediately following your graduation date, or it may occur days, weeks, or even months later. After 30 days, you will no longer have access Zoom through your NEOMED account 

• The timing for losing access to Zoom for students who withdrew or were dismissed from NEOMED occurs when the University marks such students as "Withdrawn" or "Dismissed" in Banner. Following this designation, you will no longer have access to Zoom.

Faculty and Staff  

• Zoom accounts for faculty and staff who leave NEOMED (separation or retirement) will be deleted after their last day of employment.

What If I have meetings or recordings that need to be saved? 

All meetings, recordings and reports will be deleted with your account. If you have items that need to be transferred to someone else before you leave, please contact us at media@neomed.edu before your last day. You can also download your recordings to your personal device before your account is deleted. 

What happens if I leave NEOMED and come back? 

Once your NEOMED account is active, log in to  NEOMED Zoom  and a new account will be created for you. This would apply to returning students and to affiliated faculty who do not have continuous agreements.
