Change Your Default Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) Sign-In Method

These instructions are designed for those that have completed the multi-factor authentication (MFA) and self-service password reset (SSPR) setup. If you have not completed that setup, please refer to the Knowledge Base article Microsoft MFA and SSPR – First Time Setup.

If you would like to change your default MFA sign-in method:

  1. Login to your NEOMED account’s security info page at https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info.
  2. Select Change in the Security info pane.

  1. Use the drop-down field to select your desired default method and select Confirm. The methods presented to you will be based upon the methods you have already registered.  Refer to Microsoft MFA and SSPR - Set up additional authentication methods.

It is recommended to set your default to "Microsoft Authenticator - notification" due to its convenience and enhanced security.

  1. Upon your next login that prompts you for your default MFA method, you will be asked for your new default option you selected.
