Overview

Microsoft MFA tokens are a physical device that generates a code for users so that they may get through multi-factor authentication while enrolled in Microsoft MFA. This device is meant for users who do not have a phone or smart device that they can use for authentication. Exceptions may be made depending on the requesting user's case.

Prerequisites

  • Must be enrolled in Microsoft MFA. If you have not already enrolled, please follow directions on our MFA First Time Setup page.

Who Can Access

  • Faculty/staff: All may request

  • Current/future term students: Depending on demonstrated need

  • Alumni/retirees: Not available

  • Guests: Requests can be made by their sponsor and a decision will be made based on business need.

How to Request Access

  • To request a token for use, please submit a ticket on this page by selecting "Request Hardware Token" and fill out all information requested. Hardware tokens are $20 per token (inter-office charge)

Features

  • Allows you to complete multi-factor authentication without a phone. 

  • Protects your NEOMED account from hackers, because a log-in requires both a correct password and access to your hardware token for authentication.
