Computer or Accessory Checkout

What Is It?

Requesting a computer or accessory checkout ("a loaner") is a service provided by the NEOMED Help Desk.  There are 4 instances where a request will be granted and a computer/accessory issued for a 1-week basis:

  1. Your current device is at the Help Desk for repair
  2. You have ordered a new device and it has not arrived yet
  3. Your device is at a 3rd Party repair center
  4. You will be traveling Out of State/Country

STUDENTS:  If one of the choices above do not fit your reason for requesting a loaner, please visit the Help Desk to discuss your request.

Faculty, Staff, and Students

Where Can I Get a Loaner?

Devices approved to be loaned can be picked up at the NEOMED Help Desk within the Library, after you have received notice that it is ready for pickup.  You will be asked to provide proof of identification upon pickup.

How Much Does It Cost?

There is no charge for this service.

How Long Can I Use It?

These devices will be loaned out initially on a 1 week time period.  Should the 1 week nears expiration, please reach out the to the Help Desk by stopping by the Help Desk or calling 330-325-6911 to provide a reason for the extension.

Policies and Acknowledgements

I understand by submitting this service request and checking out a University computer and/or accessory:

  • I will not alter it in any physical way.
  • I am responsible (through my department if employee) for paying for any repairs or damages that occur to the device(s) while I have it checked out. 
  • If the device(s) gets lost (or stolen) during the period I have it checked out, I am responsible (through my department, if employee) for paying the replacement price of the device(s).
  • Once I return the device back in, if computer, my data will no longer be recoverable on the device.
