Process for Setting Up CMU External Constituents for Access to the KSI System

CMU works with folks outside of NEOMED for IACUC protocol processing. With the new KSI system, these constituents will need to obtain a NEOMED account in order to log into the KSI system. Below are the steps required to facilitate this process:

• CMU staff will enter the individual into Banner (or will add an Additional ID to their record if they are already in Banner)
  • Basic Name, Address, Email and ID information (ID Type will be IACU with designations of Committee Member, PI or Vet)

• CMU staff will enter a TeamDynamix ticket (Service = CMU - KSI External User Account Set Up): CMU - KSI External User Setup
  • The ticket will first route to the DBA to create a username within Banner
  • The ticket will then route to the systems group to create an account in Active Directory

• CMU staff will be notified when this is complete and should communicate the following to the external individual:
  • The default login credentials
  • The fact that the individual will need to establish multi-factor authentication with their account

  • The Microsoft Self-Service Password Reset site (https://aka.ms/sspr) so they can change the default password to something they will remember

**Note** When the external users no longer require access to the KSI system, a TD Ticket should be sent to disable and delete their NEOMED account.
