Printing a PDF document which has been annotated with highlighting and drawings

There appears to be an issue with Adobe Reader printing the highlighting properly on a black and white PDF document. There are 2 workarounds:

1. If the highlighting doesn't print, print using something other than Adobe, such as Foxit.
2. Start with a PDF document which was created in color.

This applies to both Windows and MAC.
