Banner 9 Overview and Navigation
If you are a Banner User, you should have been granted access to the Office 365 Group called "Banner Users". There are links and documents in the Files section to help with Banner 9 navigation and Banner Tips.
There is also a resource available in the Ellucian Customer Center. If you don't have an Ellucian Customer Center account, refer to the following article for how to register: Banner Resources for New Users
This is free but will require you to log into your Ellucian Customer Center account
Other Helpful Resources
The Ellucian Community (formerly eCommunities) has additional training and other helpful resources. This also requires that you log into your Customer Center account.
- Ellucian Places - Each Banner module has its own place. There are also some special topic places. You can go to a specific Place to search for information or discussions specific to the module that you use.
Once you have entered a specific Place (ex. Banner Student), click on Content and then Events (webinars), Videos or Documents for training information specific to that area.
Click on Overview to search for information specific to that area or post a question to the community.

Ellucian also provides Banner On-Demand Webinars. Select Banner under All Solutions and On-Demand Webinar under Resource Types.
There are also annual user conferences for Banner. These conferences are a very good way to learn about best practices and new features from Ellucian and other Banner users.
- Ellucian LIVE - is typically in late March/early April.
Note: Ellucian will be providing their annual conference free to all customers in 2020 due to the cancellation of the in-person event. More information will be coming in May 2020. This annual event has mainly 1 hour sessions. These sessions are hosted by either another institution or Ellucian and are a valuable resource for learning how the products work and how other institutions are using Banner.
- CoHEsion - is typically held in October. This conference is similar to Ellucian LIVE, but on a smaller scale. It is larger than the Ohio Banner Users Group and provides more sessions and the ability to collaborate with more schools outside of Ohio.
- Ohio Banner Users Group (OBUG) - the timing varies. This conference is just 1 day and is hosted by an Ohio Banner school.
