Getting Started with Ditto

Overview

Ditto is a screen mirroring tool used in NEOMED conference rooms, classrooms, and study rooms. With Ditto, you can display content from your device to one of the room displays.

Prerequisites

Your device must be connected to a secure wireless University network. You will be unable to use Ditto on the guest wireless network.

Download Ditto Connect to your Windows/MacOS Device

  1. Navigate to https://www.airsquirrels.com/ditto/download
  2. Select the correct version for your device from the “Ditto Connect” column of the page.

Before Connecting Your Device to Ditto

When you begin screen sharing, all of your screen content can be displayed, so certain notifications, applications or other sensitive data may be disclosed. Before you begin screen sharing, we recommend that you:

  1. Turn off notifications; and
  2. Close or minimize unused apps

Connecting your Windows or MacOS Device to a NEOMED Room

NOTE: Make sure you’ve previously downloaded Ditto Connect to your device. If you haven’t, please refer to the Download section above to do so.

  1. Once you are a NEOMED conference, study or lecture room, log into the PC in the room.
  2. Once logged in, the Ditto app should automatically start and launch. If you see a small Ditto window and a Room Code displayed on the screen, you are all set. If not, make sure the display is turned on and open the Ditto Receiver app (please select the Start Menu and search for Ditto.)

  1. The Ditto “Share your Screen” window will contain the Room Code you will use to connect from your device.
  2. From your device, open Ditto.

  1. In the Ditto app on your device, in the box above the CONNECT button in Ditto on your device, enter the ROOM CODE that is displayed on the screen in the room.
    • The code is not case-sensitive and doesn’t need a space between the letters and numbers.
  2. Select CONNECT. The Share window will open.
  3. The in-room PC will display a four-digit code (the number will change with subsequent connections).
  4. Enter the four-digit code on your device and select OK to begin sharing.
  5. After connecting, look at your screen rather than the displayed screen when navigating. There is a lag between your mouse movements and what the screen displays when using Ditto.
  6. IMPORTANT: Be sure to stop sharing your screen by clicking the “STOP SHARING” button when finished.
