How to Upload & Share Files with OneDrive

Overview

Uploading files to OneDrive is a straightforward process that allows you to back up, share, and access your files from virtually any device. The following is a step-by-step guide on how to do it from different devices.

Uploading Files & Folders

Web Browser

  1. Go to https://microsoft365.com and then click Sign In
  2. If prompted, sign in with your NEOMED account.
  3. On the left-hand of the screen, select OneDrive.
  4. Within OneDrive, you can navigate to your NEOMED OneDrive files (by selecting My Files) or selecting a Group/Team to upload to.
  5. Once you navigated to the preferred location, click the + Create or Upload button, then depending on your need, choose Files upload or Folder upload.
  6. Browse your computer to find the files or folders you want to upload, select them, and select Open or Upload.

Sharing Files & Folders

  1. Once you’ve uploaded a file/folder, you’ll receive a confirmation message at the bottom of the page in which you’ll be able to see the name of the file and a link to the location in which it was saved.
  2. To find all the files uploaded to your OneDrive, click on the My Files icon be sure to edit the permissions to People in Northeast Ohio Medical University or Specific People.
  3. Once the permissions are set you can copy the link and share it.
