How to Create a Mobile Response Session ID

Steps to Create

If you allow students to use their mobile devices (smartphones, laptops, or tablets) as Clickers, you need to setup a session ID for students to join the polling session:

  1. Open PointSolutions Desktop and log in.

  1. Once logged in, in the upper right-hand corner of the Dashboard, select Enable.

  1. Select your Session ID type: Random or Reserved. Random is set by default.
    • Random Session IDs are dynamic and created randomly when you Create a Session. This is a good option if you are requiring physical attendance and deterring the use of a Reserved ID (i.e. a static code) used previously
    • Reserved Session IDs are static codes and are good for reoccurring sessions or sessions in which you would like to determine the code used.​​​​​​
  2. If you would like to change your Session Options, please select Session Options. The following is the default of session option. You can change any options if it is needed and click Save.

  1. Once your Session ID type and Session Options are set, click Start Session.

  1. A Session ID code will be generated (either a Random ID or the Session ID you reserved.) This Session ID can be shared with your students/participants so they can participate in the polling. 

  1. Once the Session ID has been shared, click Close.
