Overview

PointSolutions, formerly Turning Point and Turning and soon to be EchoEngage as part of Echo360, is a student response system (SRS). Instructors and students interact with this cloud-based system using PointSolution accounts, accessible via web browser. PointSolutions accounts allow instructors and students to easily manage response activities and devices over the web. Additionally, PointSolutions offers seamless responses facilitated through Microsoft PowerPoint. Response types include polling, Word Clouds, self-paced tests, evaluations, and surveys. Instructors can instantly view results and analyze data via their PointSolutions accounts.

Account Setup

Register with PointSolutions

Registering with Point Solutions and creating an account allows you to tie together all software platforms and clickers. An account is often required for use with the Point Solutions product.

Students using clickers will receive their clickers during orientation (Note: Pharmacy students are currently using mobile devices)

  1. Go to www.echo360.com  and click "Sign Up" at the top of the page.
  2. Click "Get Started" under "Getting Started with Point Solutions".
  3. Click "Sign Up" under the appropriate region where either you will be teaching or where your instructor will be teaching.
  4. Enter your email address in the area provided.
  5. Click "Next".
  6. Check your email and click the verification link (This may take a moment).
  7. Continue with account set up as prompted.

During Orientation students register by setting up a new account at https://account.turningtechnologies.com/account/ using their NEOMED credentials.

Faculty and staff need to register as an instructor to enable access the downloads for installation of the Desktop application - you may need an admin for the initial installation and some updates.  Your role will allow you to change to participant as needed in Point Solutions.

Students using the mobile application can log into PointSolutions in a browser to register and manage their devices and check their subscriptions.

Subscriptions are renewed every year in June - no need to panic if your subscription is telling you that it is expiring during the summer.

Changing the Channel

  1. On the clicker select channel button
  2. Type in the corresponding channel number provided in each room
  3. Select channel again
  4. Begin use

PointSolutions - Clicker/Mobile Device Registration 

Once you have registered your clicker you should only need to change if a clicker is lost/broken

  1. Students log in online at https://account.turningtechnologies.com/account/
  2. Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)Log in with NEOMED credentials and select Profile under the person icon in the top left.
  3. Add new device by typing in the clicker on the back of the new clicker.
  4. Delete the old clicker.
  5. You can also remove other mobile devices that you no longer use.

To use the TurningPoint app:

Download the TurningPoint app from the Apple store or the Android Play Store.

  1. Install the application.
  2. Open the Application and log in using your NEOMED credentials to ensure credit for polls.
  3. Enter the session key when prompted.

To use PointSolutions in a browser:

  1. Open a new browser window on your computer or tablet. (Note: Mozilla Firefox may display an unsupported browser message)
  2. Go to the PointSolutions website https://account.turningtechnologies.com/account/
  3. Sign in to your account - Login is in the upper right corner. - Use your Neomed credentials to ensure credit for your responses.
  4. Enter the session ID provided by your instructor and click Join.
  5. Enter your responses in the box provided.
